Anion Gap blood test

An anion gap blood test is a way to measure the acid-base balance (pH balance) of your blood. It can determine if your blood is too acidic or not acidic enough. Typically, the results from an anion gap test are determined using common routine blood works test, like a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), basic metabolic panel (BMP), and an electrolyte panel.

If you have too much acid in your blood, it's called acidosis. If your blood is to too basic, you may have a condition called alkalosis.
